Banderillas stand for a mix of pickled / marinated vegetables: they include principally small onions, pickles, olives, guindilla pepper (northern Spain green pepper, rather medium-hot), red pepper (pimiento), all in a stick, like a skewer.
This skewers are a typical vegetable tapa, commonly served as an appetiser, usually free with a drink in all true traditionnal bars and restaurants.
